Voyage to Cabrera
The Cabrera Archipelago National Park is a pristine refuge for Mediterranean wildlife. Its waters host dense meadows of Posidonia oceanica, a seagrass endemic to the Mediterranean that is crucial for oxygen production and carbon capture. The rocky coastline is home to colonies of the endemic Balearic lizard (Podarcis lilfordi), which is found nowhere else in the world and has evolved unique subspecies on different islets. The skies above the archipelago are patrolled by the majestic Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae), which nests on the cliffs, alongside Audouin's gulls and cormorants. The terrestrial flora is adapted to harsh, windy conditions, featuring wild olive trees (Olea europaea var. sylvestris), mastic shrubs (Pistacia lentiscus), and abundant wild fennel, which carpets the main island with its fragrant yellow blooms in late summer.
